Dans le cadre du projet « Des villes pour qui? » entre l’Inde et la France, nous recherchons des étudiant.es en architecture, design ou urbanisme qui souhaiteraient participer à cette aventure bilatérale. Il s’agira pour chacun.e de participer à un workshop de 2 heures en binôme avec un.e étudiant.e indien.ne. Voir détails ci-dessous.

L’objectif de l’atelier étudiant « Des villes pour qui ? » est de créer un projet collaboratif entre des étudiant.es français.es et indien.nes en design, architecture et arts pour réfléchir collectivement à notre relation personnelle avec la ville. Qui a le droit d’occuper l’espace public ? Cette question est intimement liée à l’enquête « Qui conçoit nos villes et nos espaces publics ? – et constitue donc une question importante pour les étudiant.es en architecture et en conception/planification urbaine.

Dans le cadre des relations bilatérales entre la France et l’Inde, l’Institut Français en Inde/ Ambassade de France en Inde, son réseau de coopération et ses partenaires en Inde, organisent la quatrième édition de Bonjour India, une plateforme multidisciplinaire dédiée à la créativité, l’innovation et le partenariat, qui se tiendra de fin janvier à mi-mars 2022. Durant ces 1,5 mois, de nombreux événements indo-français se dérouleront dans des villes de l’Inde afin de structurer les échanges humains des 5 ou 10 prochaines années entre les deux pays.

L’un des événements, choisi dans le cadre de ce festival, porte sur le concept d’inclusion et d’accès du point de vue du genre et des voix marginalisées dans l’urbanisme, le design, l’architecture et les arts. L’événement devrait prendre la forme d’un engagement public et civique dans six villes indiennes.

L’événement est organisé par Swati Janu, une architecte/urbaniste indienne et fondatrice de Social Design Collaborative, Delhi, en collaboration avec Chris Blache, anthropologue urbaine et co-fondatrice de Genre et Ville, Paris.

Dans le cadre du projet, un atelier de cartographie en ligne d’une durée de deux heures est prévu pour mettre en relation six universités françaises spécialisées dans les arts, le design et l’architecture avec les universités des six villes indiennes participantes. Sous la direction de Chris Blache et Swati Janu, 20 étudiant.es français seront jumelé.es avec 20 étudiant.es indien.nes pour chaque atelier afin de cartographier la façon dont iels s’orientent dans la ville. À l’issue de l’atelier, les binômes d’étudiant.es devront créer une courte œuvre multimédia collaborative qui sera exposée dans le cadre du festival Bonjour India en février et mars 2022 dans les villes indiennes respectives ainsi que sur les plateformes de médias sociaux.

The objective of the student workshop ‘City for All?’ is to create a collaborative project between French and Indian students of design, architecture and arts to think collectively about our personal relationship with the city. Who gets to occupy public space? This question is intimately linked to the inquiry – who designs our cities and public spaces? – and hence is an important inquiry for students involved in architecture and city design/planning.

In the framework of the bilateral relations between France and India, the Institut Français in India/ Embassy of France in India, its cooperation network and its partners in India, are organizing the fourth edition of Bonjour India, a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to creativity, innovation and partnership, which will be held from end-January to mid-March 2022. Over these 1.5 months, numerous Indo-French events will take place in cities across India to structure the human exchanges for the next 5 or 10 years between the two countries.

One of the events, chosen as part of this festival, is around the concept of inclusivity and access from the lens of gender and the marginalized voices in city planning, design, architecture and the arts. This is envisaged to take the form of a public and civic engagement across 6 cities in India. The event is being curated by Swati Janu, an Indian architect/urbanist and founder of Social Design Collaborative, Delhi in collaboration with Chris Blache, a French social anthropologist and founder of Genre et Ville, Paris.

As part of the project, a two hour-long online mapping workshop is planned to connect 6 arts/design/architecture French universities with universities in the 6 festival Indian cities. Led by Chris Blache and Swati Janu, 20 French students will be paired up with 20 Indian students for each workshop to map how they navigate their way around the city. Following the workshop, the student pairs will be expected to create a short collaborative mixed media output that will be displayed as part of the Bonjour India festival over Feb-Mar 2022 in the respective Indian cities as well as social media platforms.
