“GENDER AND THE CITY”
Genre et Ville is a French organization which analyses and questions city planning through a Gender angle. CestBeauLePouvoir is the ArtCtivist extension of Genre et Ville creating art installations and public interactive performances.
“Gender and the City” is part of a long ongoing project on gender and city planning. The Berlin/Paris project takes a particular angle: How to occupy the city differently to fight discrimination and promote empowerment situations for women?
The Project “Gender and The City” will take place in two phases:
Phase 1 in the Belleville neighborhood of Paris in March 2013
- Workshop in February and march 2013
- Presentation and exhibition at the “Maison des Métallos” on March 24th 2013
Phase 2 in the Neukölln neighborhood of Berlin in May 2013
- Workshop 2-6 May 2013
- Presentation and exhibition on May 8th
The project will be animated by CestBeauLePouvoir ArtCtivists Pascale Lapalud and Chris Blache, both founders of Genre et Ville.
